Write a letter indicating your aspirations to become a Diplomat, your good points and those you need to work on. Remember to set out your letter extremely well as if you were going to hand it to Evans [good grammar, spelling and punctation!].

1. You are a researcher and speech writer on "Hard Quiz".
A new contestant's topic is "The Pope and Diplomatic Power" and you need to come up with 15 questions in increasing order of difficulty.
On top of that, you are to write the comments [mini-speeches] that Tom Gleeson is to add to the answers.
2. Using the following articles, compile your 15 questions. Remember to get at least 5 questions that are very difficult.

Are they able to answer all your questions easily? Quite readily? Some were difficult?
Do you need to go back to your research and get some more questions? Repeat the process until you are happy with the outcome.

1. In pairs,
read the following article from
The Conversation 8 June 2022 about Australian Passports. Note down
the changes in a time line. If you or family members have a passport,
add the date that these were obtained to the time line.
2. Under each date within the timeline, write down the reason and the Prime Minister or Governor of NSW that issued the changes.
3. Go to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade - Features of Australia's new passport and list the features of the "R" Series. You might want to go to DFAT's video about this new Australian passport.
4. List some questions that you might have about this new passport and discuss as a class.
