1. In August 2015,
The West Australian ran a story about a new aquifer to supply water to
Perth in the future.
In groups of 4 - 5 students, you are to read this story and write down 5 points to share.
2. Research.
Answer the following questions:
What is an aquifer? Geoscience Australia
How did the Hydrogeologists find this aquifer?
What is the significance of this find for Perth?
3. The Environment.
What impact does drawing water from this aquifer have on the
environment?
As a group, read the following resources:

4. Your Opinion.
You are to conduct a Community of Inquiry using the above resources as your stimulus material.

1. Scientists have announced in
August 2016 the era of the Anthropocene. In groups of 4, read all the
following articles by splitting up the work load and reading two articles
each. Keep in mind the two big questions: "Is the Anthropocene real?" and
"When did it start?"
Write down the arguments - pros and cons - in answer to these two questions.

2. In order to explain the Anthropocene ideas, you are [individually] to create a cartoon showing the different points of view of scientists using Voki or StripGenerator.
