Transport and Travel - CAR DETAILER
1.
List
what needs to be done at first glance
5
7. Did you find other things that needed doing as you completed your task? Write them down and tell your "client" these extra things that were done when you report at the end. 8. How long did it take to complete the full car detailing? How much water do you think you used? How many and how much cleaning products did you use? What was the total cost of these products? 9. Do you have a new appreciation of car detailing? Write down some of your thoughts!
1. Have you ever thought you might like to be a car detailer? What about your own business?
With your class and school community, you might be able to get started.
As a class, you are going to conduct a whole school survey on the use of different types of car cleaning (or not!) using Survey Monkey
2. In groups of 4 - 5 students, brainstorm and write down as many questions as possible about car washing and detailing use in your community. For example: find out the cost of each detailing; the time taken; the type of car washing/detailing [mobile; tunnel wash, in-bay wash] or at home. How many people would prefer to take their car to get washed rather than doing it themselves? How much would they be prepared to pay? 3. Create your survey using all the unique questions from each of the groups. Advertise your survey through the school newsletter to get maximum response from the school community. 4. Collate your findings from the survey. How much time and money is spent on car detailing each week in your region? Is it worth creating a new business?
5.
Research.
How
many car wash places are there in your town/city/region?
What will they do? What are the prices?
